Moving along further southwest we visited Navaho National Monument in Arizona, where we viewed some Anasazi ruins. In Kanab, Utah we experienced a real sandstorm.
Then northward through Monument Valley where many western movies are shot. 
We swing by Mexican Hat, before driving up the Mokee Dugway highway which gains 1,100 feet in 3 miles. 
The next day we visited Canyon Lands National Park. 
One evening we drove up the valley from Moab, Utah and had dinner at the Sorrel River Ranch, a fancy dude ranch with some spectacular scenery. 
The next day held a visit to Arches National Park. 
That evening our meal was at the Sunset Grill Resturant, a restaurant in Moab which originally was the home of a Charlie Steen, a Uranium King in the 1950s. 
We still had some desert to cross where we saw some ancient pictographs before heading back into Colorado and an end to this year's trip. 
Back in Virginia, and the Country Waye RV Resourt in Luray. 
Frank spent some more time practicing his barrel racing while riding Runner. 
After barrel practice, Frank works on his horse communication skills with Alazar in the round pin at Chigger Hill. 
At Eric's farm, Cinibar gets a wash down. 
Well Frank finally got to compete in the rodeo and boy did he blow it. Lost control of the horse coming out of barrel one and never completed the pattern. This last image is just after Frank and Runner ran into the fence. Compare the last two images and look at the gate on the left side. Better luck next year. See a video of Saturday's ride. 
In October we find the annual Clifton Festival with thousands of shoppers, things to buy, and pony rides. 
On a beautiful early fall day in the mountains of Virginia along the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park.

Frank continues his weekly riding lessons with Casanova, which includes brushing down and saddleing up.
