We took our trailer back to its manufacturer for a few minor repairs. They did a marvelous job, and even fixed a few things we did not know were broken. While there we visited the RV Hall of Fame  and Museum in Elkhardt, Indiana...the world's home for RVs. The ten Rules of Customer Service would be a great mantra for today!!!

Back home again and Frank is visiting Buckey at the farm. Tom noticed some fungi growing up the street from home and so took the time to capture these photos. Since we live in the woods, there are some great fungi and mushrooms growing nearby.

After returning home, we flew out to Denver again for the finals rodeo. We took several treks into mountains west of Denver.

This is a short trip to the town of Evergreen, CO. The fall colors were in their peak and it was a beautiful day. We even stopped by a local grocery store and got flu shots for both of us, compliments of Medicare.

We visited Rocky Mountain National Park on a sunny day with our friends Dave and Jim. The Park Service was doing a controlled burn to get rid of scrub brush which could turn into a major fire someday if not burned in small fires.

On October 21, we closed up the home and headed out for what was going to be a five month trip. We planned first to visit New Orleans for a convention, and then drive on into Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. On the second day out Frank had some minor chest pain which he thought was heartburn. But on the third day the pain came back with a vengeance and his left arm hurt. He was having a heart attack. Tom called 911 and got directions to the nearest hospital. We drove there and their emergency room determined Frank was indeed having a heart attack. They transported him to a hospital thirty miles away which specialized in cardiac care. While Frank was being moved via ambulance, Tom repositioned the trailer in a campground nearer to the second hospital. Frank remained in the Cookeville Regional Medical Center , an excellent hospital, for 5 days and had two heart scan operations. The first scan resulted in their trying to treat him with a medicines only regimen. But three days later Frank still had chest pains....so they went back in and placed two stents in his heart. He was released the next day and we headed back home.

We are now home and Frank is recovering with the assistance of an excellent cardiologist and a bevy of other doctors. They are adjusting his meds and he has even started to exercise. We bought a recumbent bike which he uses daily and he is losing weight.

To close this year's card, we returned to the farm the day before Thanksgiving. Here is Chuck and Buddy...now without his collar. It is amazing that the white horse, Alizar, simply laid there while Chuck walked up to him and petted him. Also shown are Frank and Runner...his partner where we started this Christmas card.
