This year, we were blessed with several friends and relatives coming to visit and staying with us for a few days. This is Wayne, a friend from New Hampshire. We all had fun visiting local sites and restaurants. We even did the obligatory tour of Washington DC monuments. Before Wayne left, Frank gave him some basic instruction on calf roping.

Yes, we live in the middle of the woods. Isn't is a marvel to see Mother Nature..and a doe suckling her young... in our backyard? At least they are safe. We stopped artificially fertilizing our lawn ten years ago...as the deer then won't eat it. Think of the money we saved. It still is green.

These pictures are of the Chicago rodeo. We went there last year, and also this year...and plan of going next year. Some of these photos are of Terry...our friend from the horse farm...and one of Frank accepting his award for competing in Calf Roping On Foot. This was his first try as a competitor. He roped the live calf and won a ribbon. Tom took the photo...but was so elated..the camera would not stay still. See a slide show of Frank catching his first calf.

These are from our Washington DC rodeo...ASGRA. Some shots are of both Terry and Chuck, as well as other competitors. Both Terry and Chuck did very well in Flag Racing.

We bought a new Ford F-250 diesel this fall to pull the new trailer. We are trying our best to have the required equipment lined up so we can again travel...which we hope to do in the next year. One photo shows both the F-150 and the F-250 that we now own in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Luray. Ps- Tom just traded in his 1998 Explorer with 171,573 miles for a new 2007 Honda Accord, EXL. Footnote: Ok, our toys are here and paid for...and yes, it was painful...but we own them and they are here. Thank God.

Finally a party at Mark and Marty's in Fort Valley. Something is amazing about Fort Valley...perhaps it is the water or air...but people there are relaxed, friendly, caring, and thoughtful. Gee, if only we all could be that way. The last picture is of Tom and Frank at a Rodeo Board Meeting last Sunday, Dec 3rd. The picture of the Capitol is actually the US Capitol out the window of the hotel...as the hotel is one block away from the Capitol. We are both surprised and happy with this shot...once again the camera came through.
