Last year about this time we had some snow for Christmas. Below you can see Tom using our snow blower in our driveway. We were fortunate to have our friends Brian and Bill come visit us at Christmas. The last three pictures were taken as we took them on a driving tour up Lariat Loop road and a vist to the grave of Bufflo Bill in Golden, CO.

We see lots of beautiful sunsets from our deck. Tom's photo was taken to be used as Trustee for ASGRA's Rodeo Association.

Each year, the Colorado Rodeo Association gets a bunch of tickets to the National Western Stock Show in Denver. A very exciting rodeo with rough stock riding, horse shows and historic stages. This was the first time Frank and Tom attended and we plan to go again next year.

We next attended the Colorado Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Golden, CO. There were many singers as well as cowboy poets. The Colorado program is similar to one we attended a few years ago in Elko, NV... but this is much closer to us.

Meannwhile, back to more snow at home. Tom does not look very happy, but it is fun to clear the driveway. We have learned it is much easier to blow snow at 5 degrees below zero than at 28 degrees. Unless the tempeture is cold the damp snow clogs the snow blower.

In the spring, we attended the rodeo in Santa Fe, NM. The day before the rodeo, Frank attended a rodeo school where they teach beginners as well as accomplished riders.

These photos were shot in our basement. The old water softener needed replacing. Expensive, but good for both the house and us.

Unfortunately, Colorado had numerous forest fires this year. These photos were shot from our deck where we could see a forest fire on the other side of the mountian near Deckers.

Spring finally arrives and you can see both the blossoms on the trees as well as some remaining snow on the roof of the house.

The first photo is the telephone booth in our foyer. The remaining photos were taken in Abilene, KS, where Frank attended an antique telephone show. Frank's newest hobby is collecting 1970's Western Electric telephones and eqipment. You can see more of Frank's collection on our telephone webpage.

Some of the winds last Spring were so strong that they actually bent our flag pole. Here we see the installation of the new flag pole which is much stronger and taller than the old one.

We attended a Western Heritage presentation at a library in Las Vegas, NV. These are some friends who helped stage the presentation, including Bill and Brian who had visited us last Christmas.

In the Spring we had a major hail storm. And actually we were caught driving in it. The hail accumulated almost 2 inches deep. Fortunately the Honda was not damaged, but many cars were dented and many people had to have the roofs of the homes replaced, but not us.

The workshop, just off of the garage, had to have the countertop replaced with wood rather than the tiles which the previous owner had installed.

In June Tom's sister Pat and her friend Marylou came to visit for a week. We took them to the top of Mt Evans, the highest paved auto road in North America at an elevation of 14,220 feet. Stopping for lunch at 10,000 feet in a good restaurant we watched Humming Birds feeding outside the windows. You can see some of the Mountain Goats, with some of their kids playing "King of the Hill".

In our basement we had a small room built so Frank can continue reviewing web cams. It was an interesting project, including moving a 400 pound desk into the room, but at last it is now completed.

In July, Frank's sister Sallie visited with us for a week. Sallie is an avid baseball fan, so Frank and Sallie attended a Denver Rockies game in downtown Denver.

Frank made some wooden stands to display some of his telephone collection. Here they are lined up in preparation for his next antique telephone show.
