We went to Oklahoma City in the spring for a rodeo, plus Frank had an IGRA Board meeting there. These are rodeo shots of some of the events. It turned out to be a very good rodeo which was held indoors in a large indoor arena.
While in Oklahoma City we visited the National Memorial honoring those who perished by the bombing of the federal building a few years ago. This memorial is beautifully designed and constructed. Yet it carried with it a somber tone of the trajedy that occurred there. |
We took the last day to visit the magnificent National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. We only had one day to visit, but could easily have spent two days there. |
Here is Frank's famous cowboy lamp which announces, via webcam, wheather Frank is home or not. If you visit his home page and the lamp is on...it means he is home. The lamp was a Christmas present from our good friends in Fort Valley several years ago. The second photo is a high end adjustable web camera that can be placed outside. It is on the other side of the backyard, focused at the house. It is not intended as a security device, but is does provide that function. |
Ah yes, now for our big error of the year. It was time to retire the old trailer which we bought in 1988. It was old, and had given its all. We traded in the trailer and bought a new Sunline. We settled on this model because Frank's new F-150 truck could pull it. However, as we soon found out there are some design defects in this new trailer and its storage capacity was way too small. Needless to say, it will be sold this spring and replaced. |
More pictures of Frank and Chuck returning from a ride...with Bob finally taking a break from his chores. |
Frank's summer visit to the farm on a hot day. Bob and Chuck went hunting for rocks for a flower garden...meanwhile Trooper, their well behaved dog, enjoys a cool mountain stream. Later pictures are of Frank and Pam riding Pam's horses on her and Larry's farm near Front Royal. Please note their ever alert guard cat sitting...er sleeping...in the window. |
While attending the Chicago rodeo and IGRA Board meeting, we visited friends (Peggy and Alan) who live near Chicago. These pictures were taken at Grant Park in the center of downtown Chicago. |
Here we are attending the Chicago rodeo. It was a very hot day, with temperatures in the 90's. The sun was very hot on a clear day, and Tom used as much suntan lotion that the body could take. Great riders and livestock. We all enjoyed the rodeo and Frank got some of the best rodeo shots of the year. |
At Washington DC's rodeo, Frank has been noticing that there was no place to wash your hands. So he built one. He did a great job in design and construction. But his cost estimating for the project needed some refinement. |
These are pictures from the Atlantic Stampede, Washington DC's rodeo. Shown here are pictures of Bev, Pat. and Tom attending the rodeo with Frank. Then there are pictures of the awards ceremony. Please look at the sixth picture from the end. Their host hotel is one block from the US Capitol and that is an actual shot of the US Capitol through the hotel's window. It is not a framed picture. |
